London, Barrie & Jenkins, 1971, square in-4°, 23,5 x 21 cm, 492 pp + 12 colourplates and 309 black/white plates, bibliography, index, publisher's cloth, no dustwrapper, title on smooth spine (title a bit scratched), still a fine/good copy of the first hardback edition. Extensive catalogue of Victorian silk pictures : book-markers by the company of Thomas Steven of Coventry, portraits, pictures of trains etc. . More than 1000 items are catalogued, of which 821 by the Steven Company. ADDED : An original Stevengraph : The present time (a train: locomotiv and three carriages). Catalogued as item 58 (plate 138) in a mount which resembles B5 (plate 18) obviously destined for the continent as it has three-lingual caption. Good copy allthough the brown paper mount shows some marginal watermarkings. .
