The first issue of this important avant garde magazine was published in 1927. Contributions by a.o. Pierre Flouquet, Hans Richter, Szymon Sirkus, H. Meyer, Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, M. Breuer. With many reproductions of work by Moholy-Nagy, Mondrian, Baumeister, Leger, Brancusi, Masson etc. Interessting cover typography: 'The New Typography signaled vanguard activity and this was true of the covers of 'Praesens' (.) Stazewski's dissonant typography on the covers (.) was consistent with other modern journals yet often revealed the influence of Dada. This organ of a group of Polish architects and designers, also known as 'Praesens', followed the Soviet avant-garde model, such as the reductive covers of CA, and promoted Constructivism.' (Cf.
