Description: 15. Antverpiae ( Antwerpen ), apud Viduam Jacobi Bernardi Jouret, 1746, in-4, 25 x 20 cm, (40) pp (numbered 5-35), last page blank, with full page engraving; coat of arms of bishop Werbrouck and 10 half page emblematical engravings, all but one signed in print by P.B. Bouttats. (One by Ertinger being the exception). Sewn, with a modern blind wrapper. Title page and last page dustsoiled, an old vertical fold in the middle of the page. Emblematical booklet to commemorate the solemn entrance of bishop Werbrouck (1692-1747) in Antwerp as 14th bishop. In line with the Jesuit tradition in the Southern Low Countries to illustrate some of their publications with elaborate emblematical engravings, this booklet contains 6 emblemata with lion figures. This alludes to the bishop's coat of arms, which contains no less than 6 lions. The first engraving depicts a view of Antwerp with a firework display which towers over Our Lady's cathedral. Rare; the copy in the Antwerp municipal library (Hendrik Conscience) lacks the last leaf. .
